Your favorite Orlando radio station 102 JAMZ has now changed it’s name and logo to 101.9 AMP Radio. Don’t worry about the name change because all of the music, personalities and DJ’s are the same. I chatted with resident DJ Chino to talk about just why new can be a good thing and to get down to why the change was happening. A few years ago the radio station played mainly hip-hop and the name JAMZ went well with it. Now they play ALL the top 40 hits, so the name JAMZ doesn’t really fit anymore. AMP radio is associated with dance and other top 40 stations out there, so when people hear the name AMP they will know exactly what kind of station they will be tuning into. On top of just the name change the logo colors have changed to white and blue. Instead of random colors, white and blue is closely tied to the city of Orlando because of our beloved NBA team the Magic. Now the people of Orlando have one more thing that ties it together. SO in the words of DJ Chino, “Out with the old in with the new. Orlando get ready for the all NEW 101.9 AMP radio!”
The new logo.

Also Monday through Friday on Orlando’s WJHM 102 Jamz 5 O’clock Traffic Jam. Catch him in person in the nightclubs and residencies at Orlando’s most exclusive venues.
