Rewind Your Mind: Local Band Black In The Mind Is Back

We all have that one band that defines a moment in your life so perfectly.  Their songs reach out and touch your soul and the connection between you and the music resonates so deeply that you couldn’t imagine your life without their lyrical guidance. But then the unthinkable happens.  The band that you’ve grown to love decides to break-up.  On September 11th, 2010, The Plaza Live was to host the final show of Orlando based rock band, Black In The Mind.  An Alt-Rock staple of the Central Florida scene that had carried a torch for 6 years was saying goodbye. The members scattered, one toured the country with a band out of Tampa, another started a new project and brought it to the California coast.  Although the main fire had died and Black In The Mind faded into obscurity this was in no way the end. In fact the boys are back in town and are picking up right where they left off.

Black In The Mind Plays West End Trading Company With Alien Ant Farm

Six years is a long time to be out of the game. Six years, hundreds of songs, thousands of miles and millions of decisions divided that time from now. What seemed like only moments from their reconciliation the guys hit the ground running promoting their show at the House Of Blues on June 10, 2016.  Black In The Mind ( Troy Wickiffe- Drums, Chuck Knickerbocker – Rhythm Guitar & Backing Vocals, Michael Folds – Lead Vocals & Lead Guitar, Billy Floyd – Bass & Backing Vocals) went into the studio with MAX98.3 out of Lakeland and were featured on Real Rock 101.1’s Native Noise to promote their reunion show and the response was overwhelming.

So here they are, on the heels of an enormously successful reunion show at the House of Blues and just like that Black In The Mind is poised for quite a return.  In fact, Black In The Mind will be sharing a bill with Alien Ant Farm on Thursday, July 21st at West End Trading Co. in Sanford, FL.  We weren’t kidding when we said they’re back.  Do yourself a favor. Grab your friends, your family, your neighborhood cashiers and get out to West End Trading Company on Thursday, July 21st for one hell of a show. The guys are currently working on some new tunes and will be in the studio starting in January.  Stay tuned.
