After 10 years of slumber the ice hockey is returning to Orlando in (October) 2012. That's right, for all of you old school Orlando-inians, the Solar Bears are back. For those of you new to Orlando... well... The Solar Bears are back. Rob Levy chimed in back when the Tampa Lighting came to the Amway Center back in 2011 and hinted that with such a great turn out, he wouldn't be surprised to see hockey back in town and it looks like he was right (read that article here).

“The Solar Bears were a strong part of our community and it is with open arms that we welcome them back to Orlando,” said Mayor Buddy Dyer.  “The new Amway Center was designed with the goal of housing a hockey team and features amenities specific to hockey. We look forward to showcasing our new state-of-the-art Amway Center to hockey fans here in Central Florida and giving them an experience they will never forget.”

What does that mean for us socially active adults? Well, first thing that came to my mind is now I have ANOTHER reason to love Orlando. Ice hockey is awesome. The Solar Bears are not going to be an NHL franchise but honestly I could care less. Tickets are super affordable (they expect that 60% or more of the tickets will be listed for $15 or less) and season tickets will run from $195-$1350.

They say today is the first day of the rest of your life...Not sure who "they" are but I guess the idea is what got me to start this. Whats2Hot started as a nightclub photography company and over the past two years has grown into a genuine source for information on events/concerts, new restaurants/bars reviews, and of course as Orlando's most recognized Facebook default photo provider. It's been a long road... not to long to complain but it hasn't been an easy ride. Thanks for tagging along!
