Downtown's new country music bar is a hit

I didn't believe it at first. I was doing my usual Downtown stroll and as I roll down Central I hear the typical sounds from Vain's rooftop, the  clammer in front of Casey's and Whiskey Dick's and then a very unusual sound.. Instant flash backs to UCF Football games (at the Citrus Bowl not that tin foil thing they put up a few years ago) and college life go through my head. How? The newly opened Stagger Inn was blaring Kenny Chesney's "Keg in the Closet". Next thing I know, I am at the bar ordering a Jack and Diet.

Stagger Inn is simple and straight to the point. It isn't flashy or overly decorated, trying too hard to be country. It just is. Center focus here is one big bar with seating all the way around it, flanked by a dance space in front of a barn door, and even a "jacked up tailgate" jutting out from one of its old brick walls in case you want to just sit back and watch all those pretty things. There is also room out front if you want to witness the hustle and bustle of downtown with a country soundtrack. It isn't a large place but it was packed when I walked in on Friday. The drink prices are generally cheaper than most (or all) of the Downtown Orlando bars and nightclubs and the bartenders are attentive and outgoing (refreshing and essential in this atmosphere). Their selection of old & new country music even had me singing along.

If you want a cool night to swing by, come out for Solo Cup Sundays. Your red solo cup and first drink is only 5$ and just 2$ to refill! And if you wear your cowboy hat you get shot specials! (I don't own one but maybe they'll accept my Jack Daniel's cap as my version of a cowboy hat.) So if one night you find yourself in the mood for great drink specials and no dress-code, a little country music, and a laid back place to just kick it with friends or make new ones.. Stagger Inn here.

They say today is the first day of the rest of your life...Not sure who "they" are but I guess the idea is what got me to start this. Whats2Hot started as a nightclub photography company and over the past two years has grown into a genuine source for information on events/concerts, new restaurants/bars reviews, and of course as Orlando's most recognized Facebook default photo provider. It's been a long road... not to long to complain but it hasn't been an easy ride. Thanks for tagging along!
