We are really excited to invite everyone to our first Superbowl party  and what better place to do it then Wall Street Plaza Downtown? Did you know they have 8 bars? EIGHT. In addition to the cool bars we are setting up a 16 foot led tv screen to show the game on the street. That is literally the largest screen we could get our hands on.

After 10 years of slumber the ice hockey is returning to Orlando in (October) 2012. That's right, for all of you old school Orlando-inians, the Solar Bears are back. For those of you new to Orlando... well... The Solar Bears are back. Rob Levy chimed in back when the Tampa Lighting came to the Amway Center back in 2011 and hinted that with such a great turn out, he wouldn't be surprised to see hockey back in town and it looks like he was right (read that article here).

It looks like the Orlando Magic will be playing the Miami Heat in a two game season opener. The NBA announced today (December 2) that the Magic will open the preseason at Miami December 18 and then host the Heat December 21.

The NBA is back!  In what seems to be a Christmas miracle of sorts, the players and   owners finally reached a tentative agreement. After many teams claimed losses in the hundred millions, the new CBA (collective bargaining agreement) gives an equal 50/50 split of profits. The NBA may not be back in business but local star Dwight Howard and his friends have put together a weekend of fun and basketball for charity (November 12-13). On Saturday Dwight's charity (D12 Foundation) has put together a Celebrity Bowling event at Boardwalk Bowl. Sunday (Nov13) is the big celebrity basketball game. Tickets start at 20.00 (student tickets) up to $100.00  Our money is on Shaq taking the big win for the bowling tournament!

With the recent resolution of the NFL lockout, another more perilous lockout is looming in its background. The NBA and it's players association have yet to reach any agreement whatsoever and according to officials are in fact regressing . The CBA or "Collective Bargaining Agreement" is a set of terms reached by the NBA, its owners, and the players. These terms determine, things like the amount of money a player can be paid, to the length a practice can be. Obviously with that many effects to agree on, it takes some serious negotiating on both sides in order to reach a resolution.
