Orlando's Downtown growth over the past two years has been incredible. New restaurants, a ton of record breaking festivals, condos, nightlife, and now Trend Studios. While there are other salons in the greater area, Trend Studios went the extra mile creating an all in one stop shop for our vanity needs. Housed in a prime location (16 E. Pine St , on the corner of Orange Ave and Pine) this staff is geared up to keep the people of "The City Beautiful" beautiful.  Tags: trend studio

Vintage Lounge is a funky lounge/nightclub in Downtown Orlando that is known around town as a local hot spot. Thursday night they are bringing in an old friend, the beautiful and well known, DJ Baby Anne (known world wide as The Bass Queen) as a special guest for the popular BANG! Thursdays.

After 10 years of slumber the ice hockey is returning to Orlando in (October) 2012. That's right, for all of you old school Orlando-inians, the Solar Bears are back. For those of you new to Orlando... well... The Solar Bears are back. Rob Levy chimed in back when the Tampa Lighting came to the Amway Center back in 2011 and hinted that with such a great turn out, he wouldn't be surprised to see hockey back in town and it looks like he was right (read that article here).

At this point everyone knows about the All Star Weekend and the hub-bub around the nightlife take over of athletes and celebrities. The guys from Frontline have put together a huge event this Sunday with six of Playboy's hottest to host a party at the beautiful Terrace 390. The coordinators of this event are giving free early admission passes to this party for 150 users! That's right... FREE PASSES!

Downtown Orlando's nightlife doesn't get nearly as much credit as it deserves. I think Tier Nightclub ( www.tiernightclub.com)  aims to change that. Romi Mawardi and brother Keith are exactly what club owners should be. Passionate, young, and over the top. All of these virtues I saw when checking out Tier just days before the opening (Friday February 10th / Saturday February 11th). It's chic, big, two stories, and has a line up of artists  ready to rock the crowd.

I didn't believe it at first. I was doing my usual Downtown stroll and as I roll down Central I hear the typical sounds from Vain's rooftop, the  clammer in front of Casey's and Whiskey Dick's and then a very unusual sound.. Instant flash backs to UCF Football games (at the Citrus Bowl not that tin foil thing they put up a few years ago) and college life go through my head. How? The newly opened Stagger Inn was blaring Kenny Chesney's "Keg in the Closet". Next thing I know, I am at the bar ordering a Jack and Diet.

Located in the popular Downtown movie theater plaza (on the corner of Orange Ave and Church Street), Bento Café has been a staple dining destination since Feb 2008. “Bento” is very popular for lunch during the week and as a pre – hit the town destination on Friday and Saturday Night. We met with the manager, Tammy Laney, who has been at this Bento location since (almost) Day 1. She is awesome and is full of smiles even during a hectic lunch rush. Tags: bento sushi

Throughout the year we put together some pretty fun events. One of our favorite's from 2010 has returned in 2011... that event is of course CANDYLAND! This year the party is sponsored by PINNACLE Vodka and Touch Nightclub (located at 54 West Church Street... the bar/club area). Why is this event so much fun?

It looks like the Orlando Magic will be playing the Miami Heat in a two game season opener. The NBA announced today (December 2) that the Magic will open the preseason at Miami December 18 and then host the Heat December 21.

Last Saturday we were very happy to be a part of the Art Exhibition of "A Woman Scorned: The Hannya Mask Project" (visit the website hannyamaskproject.com) which kicked off a 12 online auction for the Hannya masks that were created by artists all over the nation. The art show was an amazing success.

It's easy to overlook something as big as the Orlando Calling festival when you live in Mickey Mouse town. Orlandoinians take much for granted. I didn't know what to expect when I signed up to check out White Wolf Cafe. It's on a part of town I rarely (if ever) frequent and from the outside it reminded me of one those sweet restaurants on Food Network. I was armed with a $20.00 gift card I picked up for $10.00 on Drinkbin.com and after checking out the website  a buddy and I decided to nurse our heads after our Saturday festivities. What we got was some of the best ----- breakfast I have had in Orlando.
