In case you don't know, Fat Tuesday is the "last hurrah" for Catholics before Lent begins the next day on Ash Wednesday. Vizion 1 Entertainment is bringing you a legend at the end of this month. NY Based DJ and Grammy Nominee Danny Tenaglia has been to the end of the world and back performing for audiences since the mid 1980’s. He’s coming to Orlando for one night only and playing a three hour long set! Three Hours! Throughout his 30 plus years of experience DJ’ing, he has played sets on stages at Pacha NY, Space Ibiza, LIV Miami, Electric ZOO Festival, and the ultra-famous Ultra Music Festival. In 2000, his annual party during the Winter Music Conference got so big, that it was moved to the brand new Club Space in Miami, which most of you EDM fans know about.

American craft breweries are making some deliciously innovative beers with just about every ingredient imaginable these days.  There are beers made with pecans, hot peppers, coffee, whiskey barrels, sweet potatoes, and even some hemp flavored beers.  Now, Terrapin Beer Company out of Athens Georgia has added a chocolate milk stout to their rotating seasonal lineup and you can find it here in Orlando!

Downtown Orlando's nightlife doesn't get nearly as much credit as it deserves. I think Tier Nightclub ( www.tiernightclub.com)  aims to change that. Romi Mawardi and brother Keith are exactly what club owners should be. Passionate, young, and over the top. All of these virtues I saw when checking out Tier just days before the opening (Friday February 10th / Saturday February 11th). It's chic, big, two stories, and has a line up of artists  ready to rock the crowd.

Nude Night is a one of a kind experience. A gray area where chic and and sexual meet in a public forum and there are no pitch forks are being raised. An annual event featuring artwork, body painting, and wine. The audience is extremely diverse ... I mean EXTREMELY diverse. That is one of my favorite things about it.

I am not a yogi. I have never been flexible and I’m much better at eating a pretzel than folding into one. However, I do enjoy a good stretch, and a little time to reflect on my day. Recently, I jumped on the New Years resolution train, and joined my neighborhood gym. Since moving downtown, I have run around Lake Eola 200 times, but I have come to realize I’m too clumsy to dodge pedestrians and dogs. Also, it doesn’t help that there is a bar located right in the park. I mean really, who planned that? I also tried working out in my apartment complex, but every time I went in there I felt like I was time traveling to the 80’s, and I was shaking the whole building with every stride on the treadmill. Not to mention, there is no room for me to do my sun salutations and downward dogs.

If you are a fan of Swedish House Mafia or Avicii, I know exactly where you want to be next Monday night. Alesso, the up-and-coming Swedish DJ is coming to Orlando to play a set at Roxy Nightclub. Only 20 years young, Alesso is making waves in the Electronic Dance Music industry. He has collaborated with Sebastian Ingrosso on the summer smash single “Calling” and has been taken under the wing of the EDM legend. Some have said that he is the protégée of Sebastian Ingrosso, and is signed on his label Refune Records. Alesso’s original tracks have been remixed by artists such as Tiesto and members of SHM and have been heard in venues such as The Wall in Miami and Pacha NYC. We are really excited to invite everyone to our first Superbowl party  and what better place to do it then Wall Street Plaza Downtown? Did you know they have 8 bars? EIGHT. In addition to the cool bars we are setting up a 16 foot led tv screen to show the game on the street. That is literally the largest screen we could get our hands on.

I didn't believe it at first. I was doing my usual Downtown stroll and as I roll down Central I hear the typical sounds from Vain's rooftop, the  clammer in front of Casey's and Whiskey Dick's and then a very unusual sound.. Instant flash backs to UCF Football games (at the Citrus Bowl not that tin foil thing they put up a few years ago) and college life go through my head. How? The newly opened Stagger Inn was blaring Kenny Chesney's "Keg in the Closet". Next thing I know, I am at the bar ordering a Jack and Diet.

Tim Berling aka Avicii (more on Avicii), the 22 year old Swedish DJ and producer, is bringing his big arena House Anthems to Orlando for one night only this Friday, January 27th. It’s not surprising that Avicii is one of the few DJ’s to book a show in the UCF Arena, seeing as his massive fan base in Florida will all be sure to make it the biggest show of the spring in Orlando. His most recent event, his NYE party in Manhattan, New York, was a record breaker with 11,000 people bringing in the new year while Avicii laid down his popular tracks such as “Le7els”, “Seek Bromance”, and “Fade into Darkness”.

After 10 years of slumber the ice hockey is returning to Orlando in (October) 2012. That's right, for all of you old school Orlando-inians, the Solar Bears are back. For those of you new to Orlando... well... The Solar Bears are back. Rob Levy chimed in back when the Tampa Lighting came to the Amway Center back in 2011 and hinted that with such a great turn out, he wouldn't be surprised to see hockey back in town and it looks like he was right (read that article here).
